About Me
My name is Alexandra Barrett, and I love game development, XR, and software development. Originally from Illinois, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University in 2024. I hold a Bachelor of Media Arts and Sciences degree and earned a Computer Gaming certificate.
I've worked at an XR research lab for almost three years, working on several teams and projects to support our clientele's needs. Along with past developer and leadership positions, I have experience in multiplayer development, community management, and task integration.

Projects

Role: XR Developer
Software application that supports a wide range of scientific research tasks, such as geologic mapping, mission planning, and more. Platforms include VR and desktop. Users can enter a single-player or multiplayer experience.
Role: Technical Lead
3-act experience that takes students into various careers in the Meteorology field. Currently deployed in the online course "GPH 214 Introduction to Meteorology" at Arizona State University.
Octane
Title: Multiplayer Developer
Unreleased FPS developed in Unreal Game Engine featuring quick gameplay and unique movement mechanics. Offers multiplayer options such as LAN or online via Steam.
Dreamscape Immersive Classroom
Role: XR Developer
Created for ASU's business school. Using Dreamscape's SDK, professors and students enter an interactive multiplayer experience in VR to learn concepts such as capacity, bottlenecks, and queuing theory.
Role: Programmer
Survival horror game where players must escape a haunted carnival. Features multiple levels, objectives, unique mechanics, and most importantly, jump scares.
Community Management
Below are communities I have created and ran over the past several years.
Role: Creator, Owner
Online fan community consisting of 60,000+ members on Instagram, Discord, and Reddit. Received recognition from those involved in Max's The Last of Us, Sony Music Entertainment, and developers at Naughty Dog.
Role: Creator, Co-President
Student-led club for the School of Arts, Media and Engineering at Arizona State University. Dedicated to creating a community and connecting students to thrive.
