Overview

In this pirate ship shooting adventure, you are the most feared pirate in The Caribbean. Your ship, Queen Anne’s Revenge, must ravage through pirate ships and navy armada to find the plunder of gold.

A topdown 2D game featuring 3 levels, a tutorial, boss levels, and a win state. 

The player has abilities that can be used for strategy.

My Contributions:

  • Communicated and problem-solved with another programmer 

  • Developed system where enemies and obstacles are spawned in waves depending on the level

  • Created abilities that player can use. Each ability has its own cooldown and is activated by user input

  • Programmed enemy system where each enemy type is unique with their own characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses

  • Developed win and loss game states

  • Made health, death, and bullet systems

  • Created tutorial to explain controls

  • UI menu implementation

This project was created for the course CPI 111 Game Development l at Arizona State University. This was the first game that I produced, and we were able to finish the game within a span of two months.

Development was all done asynchronously due to COVID-19 and the pandemic. Due to this, team meetings and conversations were all done via phone call or text.
